As a Data Visualization Designer, your main responsibilities will include translating complex datasets into visual stories. Johns Hopkins University (JHU) seeks an Information Technology (IT) Administrator for the Centers for Government Excellence and Public Innovation (the Centers). The Centers have engaged with hundreds of governments over the course of their work to deepen expertise, invest in leaders, and drive impact across the globe. They have also successfully led the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center and will be responsible for archiving and managing this important data set. Collectively, the Centers seek to build an innovative, data-informed, and equitable public sector. The Centers use technology internally as the backbone of communication, connection, and service delivery.

The Centers for Civic Impact is hiring a Financial Manager to support its growing portfolio of projects supported by diverse donors and sponsors. The Financial Manager will address day-to-day requirements for financial management and reporting, financial forecasting and budgeting and all financial aspects of the Centers’ grants management system.

We are seeking a Program Officer who will oversee all phases of project management for programs that support both the strategic mission of the Associate Vice Provost for Public Sector Innovation and Design and the departmental goals of the Analytics Initiative within the Center for Government Excellence. You will participate in strategic planning and tactical execution of programs; facilitate communications between functional areas; coordinate the work of teams comprising all kinds of professionals. Program Officer will execute project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget, and follow high quality standards. You will coordinate project plans, team and work assignments, guiding, and monitoring work efforts daily, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately.

The Center for Government Excellence is seeking a Data Engineer who will help create and maintain complex data pipelines from raw acquisition of data to visualization. This main responsibilities of this role will include the design, production, and maintenance of software infrastructure to automatically extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, input/output data from databases and realize complex queries, creation of scripts for data manipulation, cleaning, filtering, and preparation of data outputs to be used for data visualization or web display.

Working closely with Executive Director of GovEx, the Communications Director will play a senior leadership role at the center and direct an expansive communications effort. This includes forging a long-term communications strategy and supervising the work of a communications team, which will elevate the work of the center and grantees in media, produce videos and infographics, provide communications assistance to city grantees, and share timely stories of impact within our community. The Communications Director will also work in close collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies, which has been a pioneer in supporting creativity with city halls for the past decade and is providing the initial funding for the new center.

The Academic Curriculum Manager will be responsible for designing a blended learning experience through specialized interactions (e-learning courses and workshops, coaching calls, peer-to-peer learning), expertise from some of the field’s most accomplished practitioners, and non-partisan research to support evidence-based practices in government leading to measurable impact in the city. The Academic Manager partners with relevant stakeholders and builds relationships at all levels, with residents to elected officials.

This position reports to the Practice Manager – Operations & Infrastructure, working closely to properly scope, develop appropriate project plans, develop a theory-of-change for projects, using data and evidence to select metrics, evaluate disparate impacts and policy interventions that lead to measurable results.

GovEx Senior Advisors are subject matter experts experienced in government operations, program, and service delivery, who guide the research and analysis necessary to determine a client’s capabilities to use data and evidence in decision-making and operational functions. This position reports to the Practice Manager – Healthy Communities, working closely to properly scope, develop appropriate project plans, develop a theory-of-change for projects, using data and evidence to select metrics, evaluate disparate impacts and policy interventions that lead to measurable results.

GovEx Senior Advisors are subject matter experts experienced in government operations, program, and service delivery, who guide the research and analysis necessary to determine a client’s capabilities to use data and evidence in decision-making and operational functions. Senior Advisors work hand-in-hand with city leadership to build and advance its data management, performance, and data analytics practices. This position reports to the Practice Manager – Economic Mobility, working closely to properly scope, develop appropriate project plans, develop a theory-of-change for projects, using data and evidence to select metrics, evaluate disparate impacts and policy interventions that lead to measurable results.

The Adjunct Data Governance Instructor will work collaboratively with internal and external subject matter experts, which includes our Data and Performance Program Manager, our Academic Curriculum Manager, and our curriculum development and design team to develop and deliver facilitated courses and training programs in practice areas related to data and performance management, analytics, community engagement, government innovation, and other topics critical to effective public sector decision making.
