Jessica came to GovEx from the Baltimore City Department of Social Services, where she was a Junior Analyst in the Office of Innovation and worked with child welfare data. Prior to that, she was a high school English teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools. While there, she used student performance and staff survey data to write a proposal to alter the structure of a course, which resulted in improved student outcomes and ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in data analysis. Jessica is currently a Baltimore Corps Fellow and is passionate about using data to achieve equity. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s in International Studies from Loyola University Chicago. Jessica enjoys discovering Baltimore food spots on Instagram, using credit card points to travel, and training for 5ks by baking cakes.
